My journey to leaving suburban Cape Town began as a pretty normal 4-day getaway, a simple fishing trip on the banks of the Breede River, I packed up my kayak and rods and set off on an adventure that would change my life.

The surrounding area and the people I met spoke to me in such a way that before I knew it 10 days had gone by. I had bought a beautiful piece of land, got the bonus of a thrilling adoption package deal, and had the joy of watching a brood of 6 little kittens enter this world and grow up.

September 2019 was an epic adventure and Villa Tarentaal surrounded by mountains, gardens, and the people of Tulbagh is the epitome of how life should be lived. I decided to embrace this life and so began this journey in the beautiful valley of Tulbagh.
